Maths Focus Weeks
Maths Focus Weeks this year focused on real-world application of maths through fundraising for charity. This was linked to our Gospel value of Option for the Poor. All classes used their maths lessons to organise a fundraising event to raise money for their charity.
This allowed the children to apply their maths skills such as: addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, estimating, fractions, percentages and more.
To start our focus weeks off, we launched with our first ever, Times Table Rockstars (TTRS) Tournament. All of our KS2 classes took part in battles at different stages, battling to reach our final. The winning class was 6Y, however all the classes worked extremely hard throughout the tournament. We see a huge boost in engagement with TTRS as a result of this tournament and children are already excited for next year’s Ultimate Tournament.
