Battle of the Bards Workshop

The Drama Club have been working very hard during the Shakespeare focus week to devise their own performance pieces based on various Shakespeare plays, such as; Much Ado About Nothing and Macbeth.

The Drama Club went to Beckton Globe where they attended a 'Battle of the Bards' and had the opportunity to perform their pieces to another school, and the other school performed theirs for us. We also spent some time with a professional actor from the Shakespeare company who gave us constructive criticisms to improve our performances. He gave us lots of warm up exercises to get our bodies and voices ready for acting. The children received a participation certificate and it was amazing to sit back and be entertained by some seriously great acting from the year 5 and 6 pupils! Well done Drama club for all your dedication through practise at lunch times and your growing confidence and abilities!
