Year 6 Science Camp Autumn 2018
On Tuesday 11th September, year 6 pupils went on a four day camping trip at the St John Bosco Camp in Essex. They participated in their educational visit with St -Joachim’s pupils in order to develop their scientific and geographical knowledge. For science, they completed various child initiated tasks in order to learn about animals and habitats in the UK. They also completed tree surveys where they examined leaves, berries and tree bark.
Meanwhile, pupils increased their geographical knowledge by developing their mapping skills. Using a map and a compass with their partner, they completed an orienteering challenge and found various markers around the camp site.
