V&A Museum
On Wednesday 22nd January 2025, 1Y went to the V&A museum in Bethnal Green.
This was to support our learning in the history unit of toys.
The museum was excellent for us to explore and view different toys, some that we recognised and some that we did not. But our parents did! We got to touch the toys and play with them.
In class we will use lessons to follow up on this learning as some of the toys surprised us. For example: making patterns in sand or using stencils for art. We had never thought about those activities being toys!
We also had an excellent opportunity to participate in a workshop called helping hands. We were mesmerised to learn about children that are born without a hand. We learnt about the robotic hands that have been made for them to use everyday. We got to see and touch one.
This made us consider our fingerprints and our uniqueness. We used this concept to create artwork.
