A.I.M High Maths Day
On Thursday 28th November, children from Year 5 and 6 attended the AIM High Maths day to challenge their mathematical thinking.
The activities included creating a magic square. This was where the children were given the numbers 1-9 and then they had to add each column row and diagonal up to the magic number.
All children were discussing and trying to solve the variety of challenges and had fun solving the word problems.
The last activity was using Tangrams. Every child had a set of 7 each and were given a pattern to complete. This encouraged problem solving, geometric reasoning and persistence.
