KS2 Year 5/6 Girls Football Competition
East London Finals
On Thursday 13th February the Year 5 and 6 St Helen's Athletics Team competed in the Regional Sports Hall Athletics Final. They were competing against 7 of the best schools in East London. The team worked really hard and won the event! This means they have qualified for the London finals in March which will be the best schools across the whole of London. We are immensely proud of the team, their achievement and dedication. Good luck!
Essex Cup
Congratulations to our schools 7-a-side and 9-a-side boys (mixed) team who have qualified for the quarter finals of their Essex cup campaigns, they beat Roding Primary Cannington Road & Giffards Primary 3-2 respectively.Well done to our girls 7-a-side team who unfortunately got knocked out of their Essex cup. They were all determined and battled until the end finishing up as one of the top 16 schools in Essex.
KS2 Year 5/6 Sports Hall Athletics Competition
Well done to the Year 5 and 6 Athletics team for winning the Newham finals. They will now go on to represent Newham at the regional finals on the 13th February at the Copper Box Arena.
KS2 Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics Competition
Many congratulations to the children who took part in the recent athletics competition. The children were all very keen to undertake extra training at lunchtime to help them achieve this amazing result. Well done to all the children.
KS2 Year 5/6 Boys Football Competition
KS2 Year 5/6 Girls Football Competition
The year 5 & 6 girls took part in the Newham Cup. 24 teams entered the competition and St. Helen's finished in 3rd place. They played really well as a team in adverse weather conditions. It was clear to see how far they have come as a team.
KS1 Year 1/2 Sportshall Athletics Competition
On 9th Oct KS1 took part in the athletics multi skills event. We had worked hard preparing the team for this over the last few weeks and we were so glad to have come first.
The Hot Potato
Pupils from year 1&2 took part in the Hot Potato competition on Wednesday 18th Sept. They competed against 9 other schools and cane first. They only had a few weeks to prepare, but their hard work and determination paid off.
Sports Days
It was a great morning of team games and races for reception and key stage one on 18th June. So many parents supported this event and we were delighted that staff and parents enjoyed the races too.
Congratulations to the green team who were worthy winners this year.
Despite being rained off, we still managed a morning for key stage two in the school grounds. Once again there was great participation and we were grateful for the support from the St Bon’s boys.
Newham Mini Games
Years 5 and 6 pupils took part in the Newham finals for the summer Newham Mini Games which are linked to the London Youth Games competition. The competition took place on 23rd May at Newham Leisure Centre and we competed in handball and swimming. We also competed in Quicksticks hockey at Lee Vally Hockey and Tennis Centre on 18th May and came 1st and 3rd.
KS2 Year 3/4 Sportshall Athletics Girls Competition
On Wednesday 22nd March, 8 girls from years 3 and 4 competed in the Sportshall Athletics Girls Competition at Langdon Academy. There were 10 schools in the competition with St Helen's finishing 2nd overall.

London Youth Games
On 28th February, pupils from Years 5 and 6 took part in the Newham Winter Mini Games, competing in sports such as tag rugby, hockey and boccia ball. St Helen’s finished 1st in the hockey and went on to represent Newham in the final at Crystal Palace as part of the London Youth Games on 23rd March. Our team came 5th out of the 33 London boroughs that took part and we are very proud of their achievement!
Year 3 and 4 Sportshall Athletics Competition
On 4th January years 3 and 4 competed against other schools in the Langdon Academy Sportshall Athletics Competition coming 2nd overall.
