Year 5 Holland trip
This year on their exciting visit to Holland, we stopped in Brugge, in Belgium for lunch, spotting lace, tapestry and chocolate in the shops. We visit the Church of Our Lady to see the Michelangelo sculpture of the Madonna and child.
In Amsterdam , we visited Ann Frank’s House; saw the Rembrandt’s painting of the Night Watch in the Ryks Museum and visited the Van Gogh Museum.
Before our boat trip around the canals of Amsterdam, we performed some of our Festival of Voices songs.
One of the highlights was meeting our friends in the Dutch school. We found out about Holland being freed from German occupation at the Wings of Liberation Museum.
Finally on our return journey we visited Ypes to pay our respects at the Essex Farm and Langemark Cemeteries and the Menin Gate. We laid wreaths and said prayers for all those who had died and for peace in world today.
