On Wednesday 26th September children from St Helen’s joined the Commonwealth Choir to sing at Christ College Cambridge.
There were 35 singers taking part in the Commonwealth Children’s Choir – from Holy Cross, Little Ilford, St Antony’s, St Edward’s, St Helen’s and St Winefride’s.
The performance was in the Chapel of Christ’s College Cambridge for a small group of invited-only guests from the highest levels of academia and others. The focus of event is “Inspire to Aspire”.
The ‘host’ of the event was Professor David Rowland, Director of Music at Christ’s College, Cambridge.
The Master of Christ’s College, Professor Jane Stapleton DCL, a very eminent Professor in both law and science joined the choir (she is the first female Master in 800 years of the college’s history). Prof Stapleton and her husband, who is also an eminent professor, is extremely supportive the work of the choir.
